STACC 2026

WELCOME MESSAGE

Warm Greetings,

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 4 STACC Conference – STACC 2026, organized by the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care, Pain and Palliative Medicine, Government Medical College, Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir.

Trauma remains one of the leading causes of mortality, morbidity, and long-term disability worldwide. Improving outcomes in trauma care depends not on isolated excellence, but on the strength of coordinated, timely, and compassionate systems of care that span the entire continuum—from first response to rehabilitation and recovery.

STACC 2026 – Kashmir brings together trauma care professionals from across disciplines to share knowledge, deliberate on challenges, and develop practical strategies aimed at strengthening trauma systems. The scientific program is thoughtfully designed to address contemporary issues in trauma anesthesia, resuscitation, critical care, definitive surgical care, rehabilitation, and long-term outcomes, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice, innovation, teamwork, and quality improvement.

Set against the inspiring backdrop of Kashmir, the conference celebrates resilience, adaptability, and innovation in trauma care delivery. The region’s unique geography and healthcare landscape offer valuable insights into providing effective trauma care across diverse and dynamic settings—insights that are highly relevant to practitioners everywhere.

The conference promises a rich academic experience featuring high-quality plenary lectures, keynote addresses, interactive panel discussions, case-based sessions, hands-on workshops, and simulationbased learning, delivered by eminent national and international faculty. We are confident that STACC 2026 will serve as a vibrant platform for academic exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and capacity building, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes and safer trauma care systems.

Greetings from the President and Secretary.

It all started with an enthusiastic group of doctors engrossed in a subspecialty three-year academic course – DM in Trauma Anesthesia & Acute Care at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh, a premier institute in Northern India.

These doctors formed a Trauma Anesthesia Group (TAG), of like-minded personals who recognized that saving lives after trauma requires not only optimal immediate care at the trauma site and during transport but rigorous research in fields of fluid resuscitation, airway management, clinical monitoring and trauma surgery. The Society of Trauma Anesthesia & Critical Care (STACC) has made remarkable strides in its mission to enhance trauma care in India since its inception.

Over the years, STACC has established itself as a pivotal organization in the field, bringing together a diverse group of medical professionals dedicated to improving trauma outcomes. The society's journey has been characterized by a series of achievements and a steadfast commitment to expanding its reach and impact. Looking ahead, STACC envisions a future where its membership base continues to grow, reflecting the society's expanding reach and the increasing awareness of the importance of specialized trauma care.

The goal is not just to increase numbers but to foster a community of professionals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of trauma patients.
